McDonald’s appoints new Marketing Director
From the first of August, Austrian-born Jörg Pizzera joined the biggest fast-food restaurant chain in Hungary, McDonald’s as Marketing Director.
He is responsible for developing the marketing strategy for 100 restaurants and 34 McCafés in Hungary and will lead the marketing team. The marketing expert will replace László Simkó in this position, who managed the fast-food chain’s marketing activity for the past 3 years.
Jörg Pizzera studied at the Karl Franzens University, Graz, specialising in economics. He started his career at Unilever Austria, overseeing the Eskimo/Iglo brand campaigns. After gaining experience in the food industry he held the Group Brand Manager position from 2003 to 2006 at Bacardi-Martini.
Pizzera began his work under the golden arches in 2006 as Marketing Manager, in Austria. Three years later he was appointed as the Director of the Marketing Department. His name was associated in the past decade with the most successful Austrian product launch campaign: our western neighbours have favoured the McWrap under his direction, a product which is also new in the Hungarian McDonald’s.
