New types of flour for maintaining health
Per capita grain consumption in Hungary has been stable in recent years, with minor fluctuations, at 87-90 kg/year. there is still a lot of surplus production capacity in this market. Prices have dropped since the harvest. Traditional products account for the largest part of sales in the milling industry. Demand for flours which belong in the health segment, like functional and rye products is growing. As a result of co-operation between ABO MILL and well known research institutions, special flour mixes like Omega3 have been developed, which help to maintain health. Demand for special flours intended for specific purposes, like baking pizza is rising. The importance of convenience product is increasing in the market of flour as well.
