A whirlwind of new connections and innovations: this year’s Startup Safari Budapest ended successfully
The 2024 Startup Safari Budapest, which began on June 10, concluded on June 11 after a day and a half of intriguing events. This year, like every other, the goal was to connect members of the startup community, foster new innovations, and facilitate knowledge sharing. The event provided a unique opportunity for participants to explore the latest technological developments and business trends.
The Startup Safari Budapest was a resounding success this year, attracting nearly seven hundred attendees—a notable figure. With over a hundred programs across various venues, attendees had the opportunity to engage in public board meetings, reverse pitch competitions, and specialized discussions fostering direct professional dialogue and more intimate interactions.
On June 11, the programs followed thirteen thematic tracks at multiple venues including Create 26, NIÜ, STRT, Loffice, ELTE GTK, Budapest Corvinus University, KUBIK, Start it @K&H, Adaptér, and Kliq Coffice. These venues hosted a variety of presentations, workshops, and networking events, offering participants the chance to meet key players in the startup world and learn about numerous technological innovations, business strategies, and investment opportunities.
This year’s conference collaborated with organizations such as NIÜ, HSUP, OUVC, and Digitaltech EDIH to provide a comprehensive overview of the Hungarian startup ecosystem and its international context. Attendees heard numerous inspiring stories that highlighted strengths and opportunities for both aspiring entrepreneurs and experienced business owners.
Discussions also covered alternative financing sources, featuring speakers from the MFOI, Creative Europe program, and various EIT industry program managers, including EIT Culture and Creativity, EIT Health, EIT Digital, and the GreenBrother (partners of EIT InnoEnergy and Urban Mobility in Hungary). Prominent representatives from the national incubator scene and the crowdfunding market shared insights into current grant opportunities.
One of the highlights was the live OXO Coffee Break podcast recorded at Create 26. Hosted by Balogh Petya, Györkő Zoltán, Hradszki László, Szabó Balázs, and Csillag Péter, the podcast featured a discussion with Oszkó Péter, providing attendees not just with interesting thoughts but also a glimpse behind the scenes of the podcast recording.
In addition to the live podcast, the conference featured many other fascinating activities. Participants could observe a public board meeting of OXO Technologies Holding and experience the unique Reverse Pitch, where investors presented their offerings, strengths, and advantages to startups.
The Safari enabled aspiring entrepreneurs and startuppers to personally discuss with investors and financial experts during speed mentoring sessions organized by MBH Fintechlab and STRT. The workshops offered interactive knowledge sharing with practical tips ranging from product development to marketing, personal skill enhancement, and mental health.
The 2024 Startup Safari Budapest successfully created opportunities for networking, inspiration gathering, and learning about the latest trends in the startup world. Both organizers and participants can look back on this vibrant, community-building event with satisfaction.
