Nébih Farm welcomes visitors at a new location
The National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) has opened its doors to the renewed Nébih Farm, or the journey of milk, installation at the Hungarian Agricultural Museum since December. Visitors can learn about the most important facts about milk production interactively with the help of a lifelike cow and her calf. The installation is colored by educational posters from the National Association of Hungarian Dietitians and the Nébih Educational Program.

One of the most popular elements of Nébih’s attitude-shaping toolbox, Nébih Farm, has opened at a new location with renewed content, presenting the “journey” of milk from farm to table for preschoolers. Visitors can learn about the most important food safety information related to the process, and with the participation of the National Association of Hungarian Dietitians, they can also get a comprehensive picture of the SMART PLATE® nutritional recommendation, including the role of milk and dairy products in our diet. During the experience-oriented visit, children will learn how milk gets into their glasses, what types of milk they can get in stores, and they will also see what grains cows eat.
The Farm also offers the opportunity to milk a cow: those with an entrepreneurial spirit can see for themselves that milking is not as easy as it seems
School groups visiting the Agricultural Museum can also participate in an interactive lesson with the help of experts from the Nébih Educational Program, upon prior registration. During the session, they can gain a playful insight into different areas of the food chain, and in addition to basic food safety rules, they can also learn about the principles of conscious food consumption. Another important element of Nébih Farm is the short educational film that shows the steps of the milk production process, from milking the cow through packaging the milk to its arrival in the shops. Those interested can learn how professionals ensure the quality and safety of milk, and get acquainted with modern milk processing technologies. Nébih Farm can be visited with an entrance ticket purchased for the permanent exhibitions of the Hungarian Agricultural Museum.
