New umbrella organisation lobbying in Brussel

An organisation was established by manufacturers of basic foods, like Bunge, Nutrinveste and Lactalis, under the name EUBF (European Basic Foods), with the aim of helping the European Committee in preparing legislation related to basic foods. New legislation which requires even basic foods to be given labels with details of contents will soon come into effect. EUBF wants a EU law to define the precise rules of labelling.
