New Burger King restaurant and renewed public space in the 21st district
Csepel’s first Burger King restaurant is expected to open its doors in the immediate vicinity of Csepel Plaza in early 2026, as part of a complex district image-shaping investment. The project is being invested by Mall Invest Zrt. and the investment is being carried out by Magyar Ingatlanberuházó Zrt. (MIB Zrt.). Both companies are subsidiaries of Indotek Group. The investment aims to transform the currently underutilized land next to Csepel Plaza into a modern, sustainable and community-friendly urban space, while creating new jobs and improving the quality of life in the district.
The planned building will be built with zero emissions and an “A” energy rating: a heat recovery ventilation system and an all-electric heating and cooling solution ensure energy-efficient operation. The green roof and facade green wall to be implemented will not only visually enhance the environment, but also reduce the urban heat island effect by improving air quality and positively influencing the microclimate. As part of the investment, Mall Invest Zrt. will install landscaped rest areas, diverse plant life and an automatic irrigation system, as well as build new sidewalks to create a barrier-free pedestrian connection between Csepel Plaza and the surrounding public spaces.
“The mission of Indotek Group is to exploit the potential of cities through responsible, sustainable and value-creating developments. The investment in Csepel is an excellent example of how we can align international tenant needs with the expectations of the local community, while creating a greener, more livable environment.”
– said Dr. István Hüse, CEO of Magyar Ingatlanberuházó Zrt., which is implementing the investment.
Indotek Group has nearly 30 years of experience in the acquisition and development of commercial and industrial properties. The development member of the group, MIB Zrt., has implemented numerous office, logistics and retail projects in recent years, in which environmental sustainability and energy-efficient operation received special attention.
