Significant increase in the price of vanilla
The vanilla prices rose to a record high after a cyclone caused serious damages in Madagascar, the world’s largest vanilla producer. Expansion can also affect ordinary consumers.
The price of vanilla rose to 600 USD per kilogram, due to the bad weather in Madagascar – the Financial Times quotes Craig Nielsen, the expert of Nielsen Massey.
The raw material used for ice creams, chocolates and perfumes already increased dramatically over the past years. (investor.hu)
