Hungarians try to limit their spending on vacation
Most of the Hungarian population tries to keep costs down when on vacation, so they prefer cheaper accommodation or try to reduce the per capita costs by taking vacations together – according to the OTP Bank survey, the results of which were reported to MTI in a press release.
According to the analysts, in line with the economic situation, Hungarians manage their finances more and more consciously, and they are also much more considerate when it comes to spending during vacations. The largest share of the Hungarian population, 27 percent, is willing to pay HUF 5-10 thousand, while a quarter of them are willing to pay HUF 10-15 thousand for one night, if they travel and stay domestically. Only one in five people is willing to spend more than this for accommodation, and only 2 percent declare that they do not have a maximum amount when booking accommodation.
In the case of a trip abroad, 19 percent of the respondents are willing to spend HUF 10-15 thousand, 16 percent HUF 15-20 thousand, 14 percent HUF 20-25 thousand, and 9 percent HUF 25-50 thousand for one night.
