Soft Drinks Association: raising the tax on food will not help against obesity
People's health indicators can not be improved by raising taxes on food products. A social cooperation is needed – the Hungarian mineral water, fruit juice and soft drinks association told MTI on Tuesday in a statement.
The association responded to the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) proposal that the governments shoul levy a special tax of at least 20 percent onsugary drinks to fight against obesity and to prevent from diseases caused by obesity. (MTI)
