Turn of the year
2015 was a good year in Hungarian retail: the retail index has been growing for two years and consumer confidence has reached a 5-year peak. The mandatory Sunday closing of shops didn’t result in job losses, only consumers’ shopping habits changed. As a matter of fact, it was really good news that the unemployment rate reduced considerably, but unfortunately this trend also entailed labour shortage – a phenomenon unknown in the last couple of years.
All in all, looking back on the trends of the past year we can stop complaining and start introducing new products, services and promotions for the benefit of our customers. The seven lean years will be followed by seven rich ones if we do this!
