The winemakers are protesting
Wine producers on the Plains feel their situation hopeless, because the 630 thousand hectoliters of cheap imported Italian wines, repress the price of the high quality domestic wine products. (The entire annual Hungarian wine production is around 3 million hectoliters.)
The desperate farmers plan to demontsrate on 12 August in front of the Italian embassy and the National Wine RatingInstitute’s building. More and more Hungarian wine growers had to sell their high-yield to Slovak and Czech wine makers, thereby improwing the positions of these countries mainly known about the beer industry. (Hirado.hu)
