Mirror, mirror: augmented reality in the Rossmann mobile app
Keeping up with the innovations of the digital age and the evolution of technology, Rossmann has introduced a feature in the Rossmann Online Drugstore mobile app that could revolutionise the way you shop at the drugstore.
The Virtual Mirror makes it possible for users to virtually try on make-up products before they make a purchase. The Virtual Mirror isn’t just another digital tool in the hands of shoppers, but also a whole new experience. At the moment Rossmann’s app allows users to try selected products of the L’Oréal group, including the L’Oréal Paris, Maybelline and NYX brands, plus the drugstore’s own Alterra decorative cosmetics and certain Rival Loves Me products.
“The technology used in the new feature is augmented reality (AR). This means shoppers can see in real time how products look on their face, without actually having to try them on. Our main goal with this innovation is to give customers more confidence to choose decorative cosmetics products online”, said Ádám Fürjes, head of the Rossmann webshop. All shoppers need to do is download Rossmann’s mobile app to enjoy all the benefits of the Virtual Mirror with the selected products. It is also worth joining the Rossmann+ VIP programme for additional exclusive discounts and offers. (x)
