So far no one has managed to repeat the success of Dominique Ansel’s cronut, but there is a new “hybrid” now that might become very popular: the crookie, the love child of croissants and cookies. The idea sprang from the mind of Stéphane Louvard, the owner of Maison Louvard in Paris, who decided in 2022 to “twist” his perfectly layered croissant with chocolate-rich, buttery cookie dough. //
