Trade Marketing Klub: The scent of success
Trade Marketing Club invited a special guest to its summer opening party, held on the beautiful terrace of Buda Sport Hotel: perfumer Zsolt Zólyomi, who earned his degree at the perfume maker master course of Fragrance Academy in Versailles. When he started speaking the air around participants came to life and Mr Zólyomi also used fragrance samples to share some of the secrets of his trade with TMC members: participants had a chance to smell the sweetest baby scent, the fragrance of erotic passion and desire and the scent of success and confidence. The perfumer has been experiencing and researching the mystic world of scents for 30 years and he uses his knowledge to create new fragrances. Most of the time he works abroad but he is happy to accept Hungarian jobs as well. For instance last time he created a scent for the event where Zwack launched Unicum Plum – this scent was pumped into the air by using special equipment throughout the event. He told that it is also possible to scent individual departments in a large store space. The next presenter was odour neutralising expert.
Márta Kassay, who spoke about the yet unexploited scent potential in Hungarian retail. The two main sponsors of the club meeting were SGS Hungária and InfomatiX. Ágota Kiss, consumer goods line manager with SGS Hungária highlighted that scents can also be interpreted as hygiene factors because the scent of a product forms part of many sensory examinations, by this becoming an element of quality audits. InfomatiX’s head of division Zsolt Balaskó introduced a data analysing system, which is capable of shedding light on consumer habits that can help making a decision when purchasing a product, e.g. a perfume. After the presentations it was time to taste the delicious grilled sausages, salads and to have a few cold drinks – and of course some of Szamos Marzipan’s Truffle cake. Club members kept chatting, networking and asking questions from the presenters way into the evening. Trade Marketing Club’s partners who contributed to organising the grill party were Coca-Cola, Dreher, Pick Szeged, Sole-Mizo, Szamos Marzipan, Univer Products and Zewa.
