Weak domestic consumption continues to hold back imports
According to the preliminary datas, the foreign trade value, calculated in euros, slightly increased by 2 percent in January, compared to the previous year's high levels – the Central Statistical Office told MTI.
The value of export was 6.253 billion euros (1,933 billion HUF), while the value of import was 5.830 billion euros (1,802 billion HUF). The export surplus in January 2012 was 423.5 million euros.
The January data did not surprise the analysts, although slightly higher surplus was expected.
