The leading organization of the profession, the Hungarian Marketing Association (MMSZ), held its annual general meeting on May 14, at which the membership unanimously elected Ferenc Hinora (Positive Adamsky) as president for another four years. The organization is proud to have become a modern professional association, whose task goes beyond the enforcement of interests. The MMSZ aims to become a quality arena for the sharing of information and a defining professional connection point beyond the domestic sphere, and increasingly in the international space.

Strengthening professional identity is key. The Hungarian Marketing Association is one of the most active professional organizations today, as it implements numerous projects and programs, through which it addresses thousands of professionals and business actors every year. The association’s primary mission is to raise the reputation of marketing to an ever higher level by strengthening professionalism. To this end, it is of utmost importance to strengthen the identity of the profession, as it is only on this basis that marketing can be represented at the highest level within organizations and businesses – this was stated at the MMSZ annual general meeting at the Oh My Green event venue in Buda. The association aims to show that well-executed marketing activities provide diverse and effective support not only at the micro but also at the macro level: they drive the economy, help achieve business goals, while, thanks to their wide range of tools, they increasingly play a prominent role in addressing social and environmental challenges and implementing technological solutions.

Numerous projects – strong visibility. The professional organization, which will be 35 years old this December, brings together and represents the entire community of the profession as well as business players through diverse projects and programs. In addition to its active membership and community life, the Hungarian Marketing Association is particularly proud of its events that fundamentally define the profession (Marketing Summit, Digital Forum), its recognized and practical training courses (Digital Masters – Masters Institute), its competitions that attract a record number of entries (Website of the Year Award, Marketing Diamond Awards, City Marketing Diamond Award, Sports Marketing Diamond Award), as well as such professional knowledge resources as the Marketing Trendbook, which is also the identity and community-building forum of the domestic marketing profession.
The majority of the association’s projects and programs were founded over the past 12 years, while the organization’s membership has been continuously expanding: in addition to numerous market players connected on a value and service basis, it now counts 80% of the TOP advertisers among its ranks.

Active professional work. At the same time, in addition to its own programs, the association also takes an active role in professional initiatives that support the effectiveness and development of the entire industry, as well as encourage its connections – across organizations or even across borders. Examples include the Marketing Indicator, the MDK Trend Report published annually, the FairPlay Book, or the European Marketing Agenda implemented in collaboration with the European Marketing Confederation. In addition, MMSZ is a co-founder and supporter of professional awards such as the Green Pledge, the Signature 40, or the TOP 50 marketing leaders ranking.

New focal points shaping the future. Ferenc Hinora, the newly re-elected president of MMSZ, has been continuously managing the organization’s operations for 12 years now. “The Hungarian Marketing Association has come a long way in all areas, as a result of which it is now an unavoidable factor in the domestic marketing and communication profession. I am pleased to see that the effectiveness of our dedicated work is confirmed by our continuously expanding membership, our growing importance, as well as our increasingly recognized programs and leading initiatives in professional and business circles,” says Ferenc Hinora. The president is proud of the results achieved, but at the same time sees that in order to fully realize the organization’s mission and goals, it is necessary to deepen and expand the organization’s professional, community and social impact in additional priority areas.
