Retail debt continued to grow
Somewhat surprisingly, the retail loan portfolio also expanded dynamically in March, according to data published by the MNB on Wednesday. There can be several reasons for this, of course. One is that the coronavirus pandemic erupted in the second half of March, so before that, borrowers might have thought that only the disease would have the mild impact expected by politicians and many experts on Hungary. It should also be borne in mind that the credit rating is not a one-day story, so it is also quite likely that previous claims have been realized. (MTI)
