Retail sales continue to grow in January, according to GKI
In January this year, retail sales growth is expected to increase to 5.4 percent and in the first half of 2019 an increase of 4.5 percent is expected on average – GKI Economic Research Co. forecasted.
In the announcement of the GKI Economic Research Co. sent to MTI on Wednesday, the company recalls that the volume of retail sales increased by an average of 6.4 percent in the first 11 months of 2018. The biggest, 7.8 percent annual growth occured last January, and the smallest 5.2 percent last November. Since August last year, there has been a steady decline in the pace, which can be linked to the slowdown in real earnings, the stagnation of real pensions and the loss of real social benefits such as family allowances – GKI told.
