Fertilizer sales prices decreased further 2023 VII-IX.
In the months of 2018, compared to the volume sold in the same period a year earlier, 66 percent more fertilizer was delivered to farmers. Within the product range, the turnover of lime-sammon-saltpetre was the most active, increasing approximately threefold. On the other hand, the demand for urea has halved. Average sales prices continued to decrease in the third quarter of 2023, similar to the second quarter, in which the price of potassium chloride decreased the most.
The prices in the relevant period have reached the level of the prices of the same period two years earlier, however, in the 2020 III. compared to quarterly prices, fertilizers still had to be paid twice as much. Compared to the prices of the previous reference period, the price of lime-ammonium saltpetre decreased the most during the observed period. In the case of most products, the average price reduction was around 50 percent. The ratio of demand for ammonium nitrate to urea was 1:14 in the third quarter of 2022, which changed to 1:3 in the reporting period. The highest demand in terms of volume was for lime-ammonium nitrate (MAS) and NPK 15-15-15 during the observed period. These two products accounted for 76 percent of this year’s third quarter sales.
