Canned beer keeps conquering
Beer retail sales topped HUF 116 billion in December 2008-November 2009. Volume sales fell by 3 percent to 386 million litres – according to the Nielsen Retail Index. The average price was up from HUF 145/litre to HUF 151. Canned beer’s market share expanded by 2 percent to 61; bottled beer contracted by 4 percent to 33. Non-alcoholic beers had a 4-percent market share.
