Raw milk’s price kept falling in December

With a 0.03 percentage point improvement in fat content, a 0.01 percentage point drop in protein content and a 3% decrease in the base price, the average price of raw milk was 3% lower compared to November and 6% less than in the same month of the previous year. Raw milk purchases in December 2025 exceeded the previous month’s volume by 7% and December 2024 by 5%. The export price of raw milk was HUF 154.63/kg in December 2025, down 8% from the previous month and 27% from the same month of the previous year. The export price was 18% lower than the average producer price.

AKI PÁIR data reveals that processors and traders purchased high oleic sunflower seeds (HO) for HUF 210,800/tonne (-13%) and high oil sunflower seeds (LO) for HUF 169,200/tonne (-14%) in the second week of January. The average producer price of industrial sunflower seeds (including high oleic acid sunflower seeds) – excluding VAT and transport costs – was HUF 185,100/tonne (-14%). At the Budapest Wholesale Market the wholesale price of lemons (HUF 852/kg) rose by 23% in 2025 compared to a year earlier, while the wholesale price of oranges grew by 15% (HUF 836/kg) in 2025.
