Tea price on historical top
The cost of a cup of tea is set to soar to an all-time high following production problems in Kenya, the UN warned.
Violence in the world’s largest
exporter of black tea saw shipments drop by ten per cent after the
riots which followed the disputed re-election of President Mwai
Kibaki.
Global wholesale tea prices surged more
than six per cent last year. Now further hikes are expected after
growers and distributors were hit. The cost of coffee and cacao beens
has also been affected.
