Tokyo 2020 – G7 leaders support Japan’s Olympic commitment
The leaders of the world’s seven most advanced industrialized nations (G7) have assured Japan of their commitment to host a safe and peaceful Olympics and Paralympics in Tokyo this summer.
In a statement issued after a virtual meeting on Friday, the G7 heads of state and government said that holding the five-ring games will be “a symbol of global unity in the fight against Covid-19.”
The G7 is made up of the United States, Britain, Japan, Canada, Germany, Italy and France. (MTI)
