Tokaj Trading House: record high grape prices in Tokaj
The state-owned Tokaj Trading House paid substantially higher 250 HUF per kilo average purchasing price to the grape growers of Tokaj-hegyalja.
Compared to last year the price per kilo increased in all of the grape categories this year at the Tokaj Trading House Ltd. From the quantity of the grapes it seems that the farmers are satisfied with the pricing. The differential pricing used at the Tokaj Trading House makes a positive effect on the purchasing prices of the region, because the Tokaj Trading House purchased around 35 percent of the entire grape yield of the region as raw material, and gives 40 percent of the total wine production of the Tokaj Wine Region.
