More pigs, fewer cattle and chickens were slaughtered in slaughterhouses in Hungary last year
According to the analysis of the Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI), 6 percent less cattle, 2 percent more pigs and 2 percent less poultry were slaughtered in slaughterhouses in Hungary in 2020 compared to the previous year.
Statistics show that in the group of poultry, goose and duck slaughter fell sharply (by 46 and 28 percent, respectively) due to the effects of bird flu.
105.7 thousand cattle were slaughtered in 2020, 5.7 percent less than in 2019. (MTI)
