More commercials, bigger sales
Last year companies spent 52 percent more on television commercials for shampoo products than a year earlier, HUF 6.4 billion at rate card price. Shampoo value sales rose 8 percent to HUF 11 billion, but volume sales fell 2 percent. Manufacturer brands’ share in sales was 93 percent in the last two years. Drugstores strengthened their position: their market share grew from 40 to 44 percent.
