Kifli customers have returned a total of more than 5.5 million glass, bottle and can bottles with door-to-door redemption since the service was launched. This amount corresponds to a redemption fee of approximately 277 million forints, which customers received back in the form of redeemable credit. On average, more than 420 thousand beverage packaging was returned to circulation on a monthly basis, and an average of 14 thousand beverage packaging per day.

In the first year of door-to-door redemption, Kifli.hu customers handed over 5.5 million beverage packaging to couriers. In the program launched in September 2024, customers received back the redemption fee of approximately 277 million forints in the form of immediately spendable credit. Between September 2024 and 2025, customers returned an average of 14,000 bottles and cans per day and 420,000 per month. In the month of launch, Kifli couriers collected nearly 300,000 pieces of beverage packaging, then last winter this increased to an average of 360,000 pieces, and in the spring the returned quantity was approximately 420,000 pieces per month on average. The volume reached its highest level in the summer months: In August, customers exchanged 608 thousand bottles and cans, worth more than 30 million forints, and in second place, 564 thousand bottles (28.2 million forints) in July, while 502 thousand bottles (worth 25 million forints) in June.

Home-delivery redemption allows customers to hand over their glass, plastic and metal bottles with a redemption fee directly to the couriers when their order is delivered. This provides a convenient, fast solution for exchanging bottles. Couriers can deliver a maximum of 10 bottles or boxes per delivery, and the redemption fee is credited in the form of redeemable credits within a few seconds.

The bottles must be delivered in the official Kifli bag provided for this purpose, which the company automatically attaches to each order, but a new bag can also be requested from the courier. It is important that the bottle is intact and clean, has a clearly legible barcode and a logo indicating the 50 forint redemption fee. This is the only way for the system to credit the value of the coupon, which can be used during the next purchase.

According to Kifli’s customer survey, DRS bottle redemption has become one of the most popular convenience services. With it, there is no need to stand in line, no need to look for a vending machine, just hand the bottles over to the courier.
