For more than half a million dollars, a bottle of Romanée-Conti red wine was issued
A bottle of 1945 Romanée-Conti French red wine wine was sold for a record-breaking 558,000 USD (151 million forints) price at Sotheby’s New York auction on Saturday.
No such amount was ever paid at auction, the auctioneer announced.
The hammer price of the French red wine, with contributions and taxes, is seventeen times higher than the 32,000 USD price estimated by the auction house’s experts. (MTI)
