More than half a tonne of cocaine was hidden in the banana consignment
More than half a tonne of cocaine was found in a consignment of bananas destined for the food chain in Montenegro, the drug was seized by police, Montenegrin Public Service Television (RTCG) reported on Thursday.

The food chain accounts for almost 70% of Montenegro’s total banana imports
The large amount of drug was found in the port of Bari, Italy, by customs, and then the competent prosecutor’s office and the police were instructed to release the consignment to see where it would take them and who ordered it. When the drug was taken into the warehouse of the food chain, the workers notified the police. (Markovics Annamária, MTI)
