The newest SPAR store in Szombathely opened with an investment of more than one billion

“Szombathely has long been of strategic importance in the development of the SPAR network, as it is an important economic and commercial center of Western Hungary. With this new store, we have not only expanded the number of shopping locations, but also created jobs,”

In the new unit, customers can enjoy fresh vegetables and fruits, locally baked bakery products, and practical, ready-to-eat products. In addition to the fresh meat and delicatessen counter, self-service refrigerators offer cold ready-to-eat meals, while a wide range of grilled and breaded meats, vegetarian dishes and side dishes are available in the hot racks. The SPAR enjoy. range includes sandwiches, soups, salads and other ready-to-eat meals, which can be enjoyed as a quick breakfast or a light lunch.

The supermarket, which will create 26 new jobs, will feature three traditional and six self-service checkouts for quick payment. The range also includes products from local producers thanks to the Treasures of the Regions programme. The store is easily accessible by car and bicycle, and the 140-space car park has disabled parking spaces and a bicycle storage room.

SPAR remains committed to sustainability: the entire lighting of the store is based on an energy-saving LED system, the technological cooling is carbon dioxide-based, closed system, and the heat generated is used for heating. The REpoint exchange machine can be reached via a separate entrance from the parking lot, while customers can also use the cashier area to collect glass, plastic and paper waste.
