Three Spar stores renovated with an investment of more than 4.3 billion forints

Spar Hungary has modernized one of its hypermarkets and two supermarkets for a total of more than 4.3 billion forints, and all three stores reopened on Thursday, the company told MTI.

The company reopened its Interspar store in Veszprém. During the nearly 2.8 billion forint investment, the floor area of ​​the more than 4,000 square meters of sales space did not change, but the entire equipment and design of the store were also renewed. The hypermarket provides jobs for 77 employees.

The 820 square meter Spar supermarket in Gyöngyös was renovated with an investment of nearly 900 million forints, and 27 employees await customers here.

The 760 square meter supermarket in Győr was completed with a development of 660 million forints. The store employs 20 people.

Energy-saving LED lighting has been installed in all three stores, as well as an environmentally friendly refrigeration system. The new refrigeration cabinets reduce energy consumption while ensuring a more stable temperature for food.

According to publicly available company data, Spar Hungary Trading Kft.’s net sales revenue was 924.4 billion forints in 2024, after 882.7 billion forints in the previous year. The company closed with a loss of 24.7 billion forints in 2024 and 18.2 billion forints in 2023.
