Counterfeit toys caused more than 400 billion HUF losses to the EU
The counterfeit toys caused almost 1.5 billion euros (more than 400 billion HUF) annual revenue loss in the Member States of the European Union. It is about 12 percent of the turnover of the toy industry.
The loss in Hungary is an average of 3.41 billion HUF a year – the National Board Against Counterfeiting (HENT) announced on Monday, on the basis of the report of the European Union’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market. Counterfeiting causes an average of 370 million euros tax losses to the Member States every year. (MTI)
