MATE receives more than 352 million forints in development support

The RhiSorgh4Health – Sorghum Microbiome project, which began in February, may end in early 2029, and the necessary support was provided by the HU-RIZONT International Excellence Research Cooperation Program. The spread of fungal strains that pose a risk to sorghum production, as well as mycotoxin contamination in the crop, are also being investigated. The call for applications for the HU-RIZONT program was published in March 2025, and the funds were provided by the NKFI Fund – the website of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NKFI Office) states that the call for applications finances projects seeking innovative solutions implemented in international cooperation led by Hungarian higher education institutions. 23 applications received funding from the more than 8.5 billion forints budget, and the MATE project is fully covered by the support.

MTI
