Autent Solutions is developing an environmentally friendly cooling system with more than 330 million forints of EU funds
Hungarian-owned Autent Solutions Kft. has received a non-refundable grant of 330.31 million forints for the further development of its energy-saving industrial cooling technology, Managing Director Zoltán Csordás informed MTI.
The support intensity of the project, which is being implemented under the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Program Plus and co-financed by the EU, is 61.78 percent. The self-financing required for the approximately 535 million forints investment will be provided entirely from its own resources, he added.
The operation of the engineering and technology development company, founded in 2008, was primarily determined by the design and implementation of fire protection systems until the end of 2023, and since 2024, greater emphasis has been placed on the building energy sector and the development of its own production, he added.
As part of this, they also developed the BoostAir product line, a cooling and ventilation system that operates on the adiabatic principle (a process during which there is no heat exchange between the system and its environment), which uses the natural cooling effect of water evaporation. In ventilation mode, the system supplies fresh outdoor air to the hall, but when the outside temperature warms up, the system switches to cooling mode.
The BoostAir Type A, a seasonal device (only for cooling), was launched on the market this year after a year and a half of development, and its further development is the development supported by the tender – said Zoltán Csordás.
The 20-person, Budapest-based company currently has four full-time and eight part-time employees working on the multi-phase Type R model, which is expected to be launched on the market in 2027 – added the company manager, noting that there is already significant interest in the new development and the Type A already on the market, both at home and abroad.
The structural components are manufactured in the company’s sheet metal processing plant in Zsáka, Hajdú-Bihar County.
According to Zoltán Csordás, the new product competes with the currently used air handlers that include industrial liquid cooling/heating units in both performance and efficiency, and avoids the use of gas filling, which is highly damaging to the atmosphere.
The cooling and ventilation technology, which operates on the adiabatic principle, can reduce energy consumption by at least 50 percent, said the company manager, who believes that the system can generate profits in as little as 2-3 years for companies that use it, thereby helping them meet their ESG commitments and reduce their carbon footprint.
