Turkey’s tourism revenue grew by more than 30 percent in the first half of the year
Tourism revenues in Turkey reached nearly 11.5 billion USD in the first half of the year, which is 31 percent motre than the value reached in the first six months of last year, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced on Tuesday.
According to the report, the number of foreign tourists exceeded 16 million by the end of June, which is an increase of 30.4 percent, over the same period of 2017. The number of Turks coming home from abroad was 2.9 million, which is 21.9 percent more than last year. The proportion of foreigners and returnees in Turkey is approximately 85 and 15 percent. (MTI)
