More than 18 tons of infected meat were recalled in the US
Several U.S. newspapers reported that more than 18 tons of minced beef had to be recalled in New Jersey, as the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Office said that the cargo could have been infected with e. coli – origo wrote.
The raw minced beef was made by Lakeside Refrigerated Services and shipped from its headquarters in New Jersey to various parts of the United States.
The product was packaged on June 1, and the recall was necessary because there was a suspicion that the shipment was e. coli can be infected. (origo)
