The Ministry of Agriculture supports new investments worth more than HUF 171 billion
Thanks to the 80% national additional funding, the government has supported agricultural and food industry investments worth HUF 1,300 billion from 2021, in addition to this, another 400 projects will receive HUF 171.5 billion in the next few days as part of the Rural Development Program, announced Agriculture Minister István Nagy.

The head of the ministry reminded that from 2021, an unprecedented amount of funds will be available for the development of agriculture, which aims at the complete modernization of agriculture and food production, which is the backbone of the economy of the Hungarian countryside, along the strategic directions defined in the “Renewable countryside, renewable agriculture” program. István Nagy explained that in April 2023, the government increased the commitment amount of the Rural Development Program to almost HUF 3,443 billion, which made it possible to support new applications.
Support becomes possible in these areas
According to the decisions that have just been made, it was decided to award HUF 74 billion in the call for support for the development of livestock farms, HUF 41.6 billion in the context of the call for the complex development of food industry plants, and HUF 16.5 billion in the framework of the development of the agricultural water management sector. In addition, in the past few days, a decision was made to award 11.5 billion forints in support of the development of crop storage, dryers and cleaners, and 12.7 billion forints in the case of applications submitted to the call for support for the development of fodder production plants. Local governments operating in rural areas received an additional HUF 9.86 billion in support, which will be used for the development and renovation of rural roads, the minister listed.
István Nagy mentioned that the Hungarian budget will provide 750 billion forints in the year 2023, of which 386 billion forints have already been transferred to the affected parties, in connection with the payments of the subsidies already awarded within the framework of the Rural Development Program.
