More than 150,000 European textile jobs have been put at risk
More than 150,000 jobs have been put at risk in the European clothing and textile industry as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a recent study by credit insurer Euler Hermes.
“We assume that, despite numerous measures to support the economy, some 13,000 companies will be closed in Europe by the end of 2021, which means that some 158,000 jobs in the European textile industry are likely to be at risk,” pointed out Ron van het Hof, leader of the German subsidiary of Euler Hermes.
