The prominent professional event of the Great Plain region was held for the fourth time, where small-scale producers, short supply chain (REL) players and the general public could meet. The expo, which featured more than 110 exhibitors, presented a wide range of products this year as well: from special goat cheeses and spicy sausages to herbal teas and dessert honeys and even festive gingerbreads. In addition to domestic producers, exhibitors also came from France and Harghita in Székely.

The highlight of the event was the “plant music” presentation, which aroused serious interest among visitors. The programs included book signings, cheese tastings, organic garden advice, and demonstrations of domestically developed machines – seed butter makers, oil presses, vacuum packers – which could provide a breakthrough in the development of small-scale farms.

“It is increasingly important for us to put good quality, domestic products on the table”

– emphasized Dr. Beáta Felkai, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, highlighting the economic and sustainability significance of domestic food consumption.

The event has already attracted more than 750 visitors from all over the country this year. The program not only offered professional presentations and consultations to existing farmers and members of purchasing communities: experts from NAK, NÉBIH, NAV and the KAP network also provided assistance to those who are now planning to start a rural farm.

According to Dr. Katalin Kujáni, President of the Kislépték Association, getting to know the business models of REL significantly increases the competitiveness of small producers. In connection with the event, the first printed issue of the Producers and Landscapes magazine has just been published, offering practical knowledge to domestic small producers, food producers and agrotourism players.

Given the great interest, the organizers are already preparing for the 2026 sequel, for which they expect the professional audience and customers from both here and across the border.
