Hungary’s market-leading retail store chain has extended its five-year sponsorship cooperation with the Foundation for the Development of the Heim Pál Children’s Hospital. According to the new agreement, over the next one year, with a donation of fresh, nutrient-rich food to the value of more than HUF 100 million, it will help the children in the Heim Pál Children’s Institute with varied, high-quality meals and thereby speed up their recovery. In the past year, the company supported the hospital with 62 tons of food, a third of which was fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as fresh meat. Based on the aggregated data, it supported the hospital with more than 240 tons of food in five years.

Lidl Hungary has been supporting the Heim Pál National Pediatric Institute through its foundation for five years now, and the parties have now extended the contract for another year and increased the amount of support to HUF 8.5 million gross per month. Thus, the retail store chain will provide food donations worth more than HUF 100 million to the health institution until May 31, 2025.

“For our company, social responsibility is a particularly important area, especially with regard to our support cooperation aimed at the Heim Pál Children’s Hospital. Through our donation program, we want to provide children in recovery with fresh and healthy food rich in nutrients, because this is also key to their recovery.”

– stated Judit Tőzsér, Lidl Hungary’s corporate communications manager, who also addressed the data of the last year of the support separately:

“In total, we supported the hospital with about 62 tons of food, a third of which was fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as fresh meat, but we also provided a significant amount of various cold meats and cheeses. In addition, we delivered 18,000 pieces of yogurt, 8,000 baby food, and more than 5,600 liters of juice to the institution.”

Whether it’s baby food, fresh fruit and vegetables, cold meats, cheese, yogurt, pasta, rice, canned goods or even soft drinks, the children’s hospital compiles the food requirements.
