Several billion storm damages hit the agricultural sector
The weekend rain caused several billion HUF damage to the country's agriculture. According to the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture, more than 150 thousand hectares are under water.
After the near rivers and canals are filled, it is almost impossible to derive the surplus from the lands. The biggest problems are in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Csongrád, Nógrád, Komárom-Esztergom, Győr-Moson-Sopron Counties, but bad weather pulls back the agricultural works also in Hajdú-Bihar, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok and Békés counties as well – reports Origo.
