Swiss trade surplus in September increased to highest level since decades
Thanks to the strong growth of chemicals and pharmaceutical exports, Swiss trade balance surplus reached a 29 year record level in September.
According to the working-day adjusted data of the Swiss customs office published on Thursday, the Swiss export volume increased by 10.4 percent in nominal terms and in real terms, by 5.7 percent to 18.8 billion Swiss francs. The value of imports amounted to 14.4 billion Swiss francs, which is a 3.8 percent increase in nominal terms, but a 0.1 percent decline in real terms. (MTI)
