Several stores suspended the marketing of Visegrádi mineral water
Several supermarket chain take off Visegrádi mineral water bottles from the shelves of their stores, because the fluoride content of the product may be harmful to the children’s health. The manufacturer appealed the proficiency of the testing laboratory.
The Visegrádi mineral water got the focus of attention when the Interpress Magazin’s (IPM) February test concluded, that the high fluoride content is harmful to children, younger than 7 years. The manufacturer of the water, sued IPM after the disclosure, since the IPM dismissed the application for rectification.
The court in May ruled that both parties were incorrect. Although IPM’s averment was true, but the magazine also misleaded its readers.
The CBA and the Auchan withdrew the Visegrádi mineral water from the shelves, due to the court's decision. Tesco – until official notification has not received – markets the products – reports Origo.
