Ten million cans and a little New Year’s care for the needy from Bonduelle
The charity cooperation between Bonduelle Central Europe Kft. and the Magyar Élélmiszerbank Egyesület reached a serious milestone in 2023. Last year, the vegetable processor helped the Association with nearly 400,000 kilos of food to supply the needy – with these deliveries, the company has already passed the ten millionth canned food that it has offered for the purposes of the Food Bank since the beginning of their partnership, i.e. in 2005.
For the nineteenth year now, the Magyar Élélmiszerbank Egyesület has been searching for and collecting surplus but usable stocks from manufacturers and commercial chains. The organization provides help to needy people and families with products that are typically close to expiration or with defective packaging, and nearly 250,000 people benefit from their donations every year. Nature also benefits by saving food, as surpluses are not wasted this way, and the environment is not burdened by their decomposition.
