Unemployment rate is on its 16 year peak
Unemployment increased to its 16 year peak, to 11.4 percent, between December 2009 and February 2010. The rate is 2.3 percent higher, than it was in the previous year – reports the Central Statistical Office (KSH).
The number of workers aged 15-74 is 3 million 726 thousand, the number of the unemployed is 479 thousand. The unemployment rate, between November 2009 and January 2010 was 10.8 percent. Between December 2008 and February 2009 it was 9.1 percent.
The male unemployment increased by 2.6, women unemployment by 2 percentage points – reports piacesprofit.
