Thirteen percent increase in earnings over a year
In August, gross average earnings were 13.2 percent higher than a year before, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Thursday. The rate of growth was slightly different from the previous month’s 13.1 percent, but in August, the rise in bonuses and other single payments increased by 31.0 percent, with a 12.4 percent increase in earnings.
In the public sector, average wages rose by 17.8 percent, due to a jump of 82.0 percent in the one-off items, but regular wages also grew by an average of 14.4 percent. In the private sector, earnings growth was 11.5 percent, and regular payments increased by 11.6 percent. (MTI)
