Russian vodka production broke a ten-year record
Russian distilleries broke a ten years old production record in June. As the St. Petersburg Times wrote, the Russian vodka producers produced 96.1 million liters of spirits, 47 percent more than in last June.
Brandy production, also increased by 80 percent, while 68.3 million liters of wine was bottled. This is twice as much, of the previous year's amount. Although the alcohol industry’s, main season used to occur in the last two months of the year, now production jumped, because the excise duties increased on alcoholic beverages from the 1st of July.
