TheVR Mekis’ favorite: Influenza-inspired menu at McDonald’s
From October 14, the new menu of McDonald’s, the favorite of TheVR Mekis, will be available in Hungary, which will be sold at a price of HUF 3,460, without soft drinks. The menu includes a Cheesy McRoyal, medium fries, hot apple pie, four Chicken McNuggets and a sweet and sour sauce. Initially, it could only be ordered through the application between October 11 and 13, but from October 14 it will also be available in restaurants.
This collaboration is part of an increasingly popular influencer marketing trend among Hungarian fast food chains. Previously, we could also see the menu of Burger King Valmar and the menu of Dominik Szoboszlai. The effectiveness of influencer marketing lies in the fact that customers identify with the product based on the advertising face, rather than choosing it because of its properties.
The special feature of such campaigns is that the social media presence of the influencer is not perceived as direct advertising. People want to know what their favorite influencers are up to on a daily basis – they can even find out what products they use. Although we are aware that the content is often sponsored, we still feel closer to the product. Influencers often play a role in helping customers make a decision, thus making the products much more personal and accessible.
Influencer marketing is increasingly defining shopping habits, especially among younger generations. And the presentation of TheVR Mekis’ favorite menu is a good example of how this strategy is applied by fast food chains in Hungary, connecting popular YouTubers with everyday consumer experiences.
