This year’s coconut parlor candies were tested: here are the best ones
This year, Szupermenta celebrated its 10th anniversary with a seasonal product test focusing on coconut szaloncukor. Experts from the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) examined 19 different products under laboratory conditions, while both experts and lay testers rated the sweets – reports sokszinuvidek.24.hu.
How Was the Test Conducted?
The test included 19 coconut szaloncukor, broken down as follows:
- 15 were made with traditional sugar,
- 4 used sweeteners.
The selection featured boxed, bagged, and loose szaloncukor. In terms of type:
- 15 were coated,
- 4 were filled.
Regarding coatings, the following variations were tested:
- 6 products with milk chocolate,
- 9 with dark chocolate,
- 4 with cocoa-based coating.
Laboratory Testing and Food Safety
During the laboratory examinations, the Nébih team assessed the following criteria:
- sugar, sweetener, and trans-fat content,
- allergen content,
- the smoothness of the filling,
- and the ratio of the chocolate coating.
Although labeling and document compliance were not part of this test, all products met the expected food safety and quality standards.
And the Winners Are…
Based on the scores from experts and lay testers, the top three coconut szaloncukor are:
- Spar Coconut Szaloncukor – coated in dark chocolate
- Favorina Coconut Szaloncukor – coated in milk chocolate
- Lissé Coconut Szaloncukor – coated in milk chocolate
