Tesco Mobile: the first virtual mobile service provider will be launched soon
Tesco Hungary and Vodafone Hungary established Tesco Mobile, their joint – 50-50% ownership – independent mobile service provider. The company will offer its services in Tesco stores, using the technology and network of Vodafone. Tesco Mobile customers can enjoy the benefits of Tesco and Vodafone services, having easy access to services and devices in Tesco stores and using Vodafone’s voice-based service and fast mobile Internet.
‘Tesco Mobile creates new values and offers novelties to Tesco’s customers. With a partner like Vodafone, Tesco Mobile can be a real success’ – said Gerry Gray, Tesco Hungary’s CEO. ‘I am convinced that our technology, combined with Tesco’s customers, brand name and sales expertise will make Tesco Mobile a successful new service provider’ – told Dr György Beck, Vodafone’s president-CEO. Tesco Mobile will be a virtual mobile service provider (MVNO), offering mobile services without having its own network infrastructure.
